The regional Dance Live heats took place in February and we are so unbelievably excited to announce that we came 2nd, which means we are one of only two schools from our heat going forwards to the finals in May!
This is the first time Colden Common Primary have achieved this, and we are so proud of every single child and adult (both at home and at school) who has played a part in getting us to where we are. The atmosphere was brilliant all day, but particularly electric when the results were announced!
We won a number of awards:
Best concept
Best 2 minute ‘Journey to Dance Live’ video
2nd place overall
The awards will be displayed proudly in school and are a huge testament to every adult and child, whether they’ve painted faces, choreographed dances, let us have their hall slots, supported their friends and everything in between.
We are very excited about performing again in the finals soon!
As you know, for the first time ever, Colden Common Primary made it to the finals of Dance Live, after coming second in our February heats. On Wednesday, we spent another brilliant day at Portsmouth Guildhall, which culminated in another phenomenal performance of ‘True Colours,’ our story of a crayon wrapped in red on her journey to discovering that being blue is ok. Once again, the children did an absolutely amazing job – we even had the honour of opening the show! We could not be more proud of everyone involved. It is a gargantuan achievement to successfully run such a long day like that from all sides – parents and carers, Dance Live staff, children, staff who let their children out to be painted at annoying times, staff covering other staff, the list goes on. We need to say a giant thank you to our entire Colden Common family! We didn’t come first, second or third this time, but are immensely proud of holding our own amongst what have been judged as the best dance groups in the south and, most importantly, the children had an incredible time! Well done everyone!
