Year 6 Residential - Wednesday

It's Day 3 in Swanage! Everybody had to be woken up today...the tiredness is setting in! Another all-you-can eat breakfast started the day, with a a fantastic buzz of conversation about crabbing last night! No innovative new recipes today either...
With room inspections complete, it was time to head our separate ways. Groups 3 and 4 headed off for a day of wild adventure in the woodland.  Games, fire building, archery...the works!

Groups 1 and 2 had the challenge of donning wet suits again for a day of paddle boarding on the beach. We were super lucky with the weather today and we're all very grateful for the opportunity to cool off in the sea! We learnt to solo paddle board...some of us (including me!) found it very challenging to kneel up on the paddle board, let alone stand! By the end of the first session, everyone had stood up without assistance and paddled, though - result! We also played some games, including a catwalk challenge across the boards....some super poses!  Jumbo paddle boarding was really just an excuse to have endless fun in the water....paddling in sync with each other proved harder than it first appeared, a bit a mix of persistence and a huge dollop of cooperation meant we managed it....just! The afternoon ended with an hour of games out on the water (and excuse to push each other in... ) And some slip n slide fun. There was even time for a sandcastle competition. If only we'd all made sandcastles.....
We are all suitably exhausted, but are showering and refining our pool skills whilst a buffet dinner and an evening of junior Olympics awaits. Can we stay forever??
